Advanced Hydrating Neck Firm Gel Review 玻尿酸美頸水凝膠

I never really came across neck creams until a few online friends came to talk about them. Frankly speaking, the neck area was not even in my area of concern since I was just in my 20s back then.

Oh boy I was wrong! I was pretty horrified seeing myself having those "zebra"-like wrinkles when standing in front of the mirror. *_* (pic below) It was even more disgusting a few months ago when they were darker than the picture. Fio said it was probably due to "not properly" cleanse when bathing. Or in other words called "laki" (hokkien) xD

I remembered people said by looking at your neck, your age will be revealed without even asking! =_= Finally, I gave in and got myself a neck "gel" instead of those buttery cream ones since I don't fancy them that much (think oil slick + body acne = horrifying pimples. argh. or maybe I think too much! lol!)

For a newbienoobie like me, I opted for Skincology from Niu Er since I'm pretty confident with his skin care range.


If you have not known, one of Niu Er's famous line is their hydrating range.


Because I hate the "oily" feeling of creams, I got the gel one instead.


BTW, don't their packaging just look alike? The right one was my HG Moisturizer. Talk about cost saving packaging! :P

My thoughts:
I'll let the picture do the talking. I'm just a little lost for words.

Do you noticed any difference? =X Let's look at the plus points first, I like how the gel feels, light weight and non-sticky. It also smells good and refreshing too! I think that is all I can say for the plus points.

Cons?
A handful of them. I do not see firming and I still see my obvious neck rings after 2.5months. I did not hope for a miracle by using this but at least it should show some improvements right? I'm not sure if it is me but I noticed my wrinkles are much more visible now. :(

Overall, even though the gel does feel relaxing and refreshing but I don't think I would repurchased this again. Maybe I should try the cream version of this instead. Please do let me know if you have a better neck creams/gels to recommend too! I just don't want to reveal too much of my age to the public yet. :P

Shills Moisturizing Liquid UV Spray SPF30 潤膚防曬噴霧

As some of you may know, I don't really stick to one face product most of the time. One of the product that I alternate alot is my sunscreen/sunblock. This time it's from Shills.

Some of you may be familiar with Shills product as they do come out with some other stuff like BB creams and skincare products.

Here's what I can find from Google. I don't think they have a website though (correct me if I'm wrong).

It seems like this sunscreen can be used on the body as well.

My thoughts about it:

** My likes....

1. Dewy-finished. This product does not leaves a matte & dry finish unlike my Rohto sunblock.
2. Affordable. Price is comparable/ on par to other drugstore brands of sunblock.

** My DISlikes....

1. Spray bottle goes crazy sometimes... I have to clean it regularly, if not the liquid wouldn't want to come out from the bottle. :X
   




2. When I first ordered them, I like it because it says "spray". So, I was thinking it's going to be not those sticky type and should be lightweight/watery product that can goes on easily on the skin. It was lightweight/watery alright but the blending/spreading of this sunscreen makes me go crazy!!

Overall I do not like nor fancy this.

I really look forward to use this when this sunscreen reaches me. But spreading this sunscreen on my face is so tough!! I get streaks all over, and because the texture of this product is so watery, I couldn't managed it properly either. *sigh*

Anyway, I really fancy the way Shills package this product, the color so elegant and the bottle looks so nice! Maybe I should try use it on my body instead of my face so that I don't waste this product....*gahh!!* If you do use this and didn't have a problem like mine, please do let me know. xiexienidulu (TQ to U 1st)

Covergirl Lash Exact Mascara

I didn't know about Covergirl cosmetics until I watched America's Next Top Model hosted by Tyra Banks. And I got this mascara way earlier before I watched ANTM from a friend in Canada since she did some good reviews on it before. Talk about temptations... hmm.. :P

The packaging was exactly like the above, but when I search in Covergirl's website, the picture looked even better and more "canggih" looking!

Yes it is purple! But I don't know why they make it like that.. maybe it's the marketing strategy to attract buyers like me.. :P

I don't use eye curler prior to this.. and also, I've quite short lash until you can't really see them in real life (see the first pic for justice ! =P )

I got this in 900 - Very black. It looks normal black to me.. same like my other black mascaras. I think my lash exact is the waterproof one.

My thoughts about it:

The first thing that draws itself to me is the wand. The wand is so unique in the first place. And it's in purple! (I always fell for the product packaging :P) One thing that is unique from my other mascaras is the rubber bristles that is attached to it. Unlike my other mascaras, this wand is soft and rubbery. It is not stiff like my other mascaras and you don't feel the "tough" pressure when you swipe it onto the lashes. Other than that, it also separates my lashes nicely and this mascara dries off pretty quickly too! I also give them some plus point for no smudging as well! :)

Cons?

Sometimes this mascara gave me a hard time. I had to swipe a few times to get my lashes curled up nicely. And when you have multiple swipes on it, the lashes became messy and "heavy weight" (my lashes are already short and this makes it even worst -_-") . In the end, it doesn't give any defination at all. The other thing is that it doesn't really do a good job in curling. I have to get my eye curler to do the job prior to the mascara application. Covergirl cosmetics is also not available in Malaysia, so I think it's another problem to get them.

Will I buy it again?

Nope, I don't think so. The wand is great but if the mascara doesn't do the job, I wouldn't want to spend my money on this just to get the "feel" of the mascara wand. I read reviews on Covergirl's Lash Blast and I think they might do a better job than this one. :)

Deep Sea Collagen Essence : 深海膠原胜月太精華原液

Gosh. Time flies. It's almost the end of Merdeka day and the start of September.

Just like any serum that I own from Niu Er. Here's how it looks like.


Spreading out onto the skin....

Price that I bought this: RM50 +- (I don't quite remember the exact price already, sorry -_-")

My thoughts for this product:
Like any other serum/essence that I used, it is very lightweight, quite watery (as Purified water it is the 1st main ingredient in the list) and absorbs pretty quickly into the skin. The consistency is a little thicker than the usual toner. It felt like nothing after application (2-3 mins later) . I used this before my moisturizer. Does it claims like what it says on the description? Well, frankly speaking. I don't feel anything. Eliminates fine lines or firming/lifting. Nada aka None. -_-" How about Smell? I don't feel it does has any smell to it as well.

Cons? A little drying I would say after it is applied onto the skin. My skin does not even feel supple as well. But with the same range of its moisturizer , my skin does feel hydrated and supple. :)

Will I buy it again? Sadly to say, I don't think so.

Anyway, I do hope Niu Er can have a thicker consistency in their serums (and of coz, the price that we pay for may double or even triple with it :P).

The Battle of Bases : Kate Make Up Base UV vs Etude House On Screen Primer

Gosh. I am seriously not updating any since June 6. LOL! I was tied up by my work and I also went for a holiday in Bali (Indo) and that's why I'm not doing anything here.(a lot of excuses as usual :P )

Well, time to update!

As you know, my MUFE HD Base is really not helping me (I think I got allergic to it -_-"), and to prevent the same mistake "investing" in counter brand's makeup, I went to buy two drugstore brand's MUB instead : Kate's Make up base UV and Etude On Screen Primer (Bought it after I tried Kate's).

I bought these two because I think they are quite affordable and I want to try whether if these two really suits me / change my mind in drugstore make up (I'm so "kiasi" especially for skin/MU products!).

Let's start with Kate Make up base UV.


I'm not sure how much this cost but I think is about RM30 (or lesser).

The base tip, which I think it is very cool and less messy.


Kate Makeup Base UV.


Spread on skin.


Pros:

• Very handy packaging. It has a firm tip so that I can control how much base that I need.
  

Cons:

• Smells sort of like Liquid paper plus UHU gum. -_-
  
• Creamy and tacky consistency.
  
• Difficult to spread on skin (because of its consistency) and quite drying for those who have dry skin.

My Thoughts:
I don't like sticky / creamy kind of bases because I think it is drying on my skin, especially I use powder foundation most of the time (and powder normally absorbs skin moisture / oil which sometimes make my face even drier. I am not fond of it's smell as well. It does make my make up stay put but I do find it a little too drying on my cheeks area (as I have combi skin).

PS: No detailed information / ingredients as I don't have the box anymore.

My rating for this primer:


Next up, Etude On Screen Primer #2 (For Dry Skin).


One of the reason I picked this primer is because it was the cheapest range of make up base in Etude (if I'm not mistaken) - RM39.90.

After spread-on. The MUA told me there are two types (#1 and #2) .

#2 is for dry skin, watery consistency..
#1 version is for oily skin, and the consistency is a little stickier than #2.



Pros:

• Pump bottle. Less messy. (But the primer cap is very loose -_-")
• Easier to spread on.
• Skin feels more hydrated compared to Kate's Make up base.
  
• Contains not too strong fragrance (sweet rosey smell)
  

Cons:

• A little too watery.
  

My Thoughts:
Etude primer spreads on easily without any "rubbing" movements on my skin. Feels very light-weight as well. One thing about this is that the primer is a little too watery. And because of its watery consistency, it absorbs to my skin slower. Other than that, the make up base works quite well together with my powder foundation.

My rating for this primer:


Difference within the two.

• *Made in different countries.

• The packaging. I like Etude's packaging more as it is easier to handle than Kate's.

• The consistency of both primers.

Etude's is more watery than Kate's.



Overall, I think Etude's primer works quite well (wins over my MUFE HD Base IMO) and affordable too!

Here's my calculation:
Etude 40 ML = RM39.90 (RM1 per ML)
Kate 25g = RM30 (RM1.2 per ML)
MUFE HD Base 30ML = RM105 (Jakarta Price) (RM3.50 per ML)
Guerlain 30ML = RM200 (RM6.70 per ML)

I would definitely re- purchase Etude on-screen primer again if I ever ran out of them. :)
