My Old Lover : ZA Deep Cleansing Oil

I haven't talked about this cleansing oil before as I have other alternatives now and then. However, when Jusco was kind of having a "clearance sale", I quickly grabbed them without even think twice because...

It was cheap okay!! 100 ml for RM15 = 15 cents per ml. =P

I've double & triple checked and these were manufactured somewhere on Oct / Nov 2010. So, it's still new! If I'm not mistaken, the local drugstore sells them around RM23.90 to RM30? I'll update again on the price for this.

So yeah, let me introduce you to my old lover, ZA Deep Cleansing oil.

My thoughts:
As you can see, the texture and consistency of this cleansing oil is runny and not thick. This is one of the reasons why I love it. For me, it works great and it is very easy to emulsify the cleansing oil when water came in contact with it. As for whether it works on waterproof make up or not (ie. mascara), I only uses eye makeup remover instead of cleansing oil, hence I'm not able to tell you whether this works or not.

On a downside, because of its runny texture, I sometimes do pump more than I used to compared to my other cleansing oil. Also, it has quite a strong fragrance (that smells something like rose (i think) to it. Other than that, I'm liking the product as it does its job.

One side note:
Please use this with dry hands on dry face!

Also, after slowly (and lightly!) massage the cleansing oil onto the face, DO NOT splash water onto your face (I know the description on ZA says a "splash of water" liquefies the Cleansing Oil). Instead, wet both hands with water and then slowly massage again on your face to emulsify the cleansing oil. Repeat 2 to 3 times (or more) until you don't see the "milky" water on your face/hands anymore. Then you are good to go with another follow up with a normal cleanser to double cleanse your face. Trust me, if you do this steps correctly, you won't even feel the "oily-ness" (or have anymore cleansing oil) on your skin.

Overall, I'm glad I did grabbed the two bottles that cost only RM15 (each!). It does bring back my old memories and reminds me how much I was "attached" to it in the past (and in the future now). =)

How to Use Cleansing Oil

I think most people would probably know what cleansing oil is all about for now.. I'm posting this specially for a close friend of mine who asked me how I used them. I couldn't showed it in a decent way but I hope it helps for some of you who are just starting out.

Steps that I normally do:

(1) Pour a decent amount of cleansing oil onto your palm. For me, I used about the size of a 50 cent coin (Msian) for the whole face.
(2) Gently massage the cleansing oil onto the face.

Note: I normally wouldn't encourage a massage method as sometimes we don't know how much pressure we are putting it on. If the pressure is too strong (while massaging), it would massage the "dirt" and "makeup" and penetrates into the skin, which is wrong. We have to "dilute" the makeup and dirt out of our skin, not absorbing them.

(3) Wet hands with water and massage it the same method above until the cleansing oil dilutes. Repeat this step several times until cleansing oil is fully diluted.

Note: Make sure you don't straight away wash it immediately with water onto the face as the cleansing oil will not dilute the make up that way. :)

(4) Double cleanse with cleanser. This is to ensure our makeup and dirt is fully removed from our skin.

It is recommended to use cleansing oil/milk every time we wash our face especially if sunblock/BB cream is used to ensure no clogged pores. :)

Magic Cleansing Oil 魔術卸妝潔顏油(清爽型)

Do you use CO everyday? Well, I do. Whenever I put on either make up or sunscreen, I must have that CO in my "after make-up" routine.

CO = Cleansing Oil

Some quick facts on Cleansing Oil that I can currently think of:-
(1) Removes waterproof makeup/sunscreen.
(2) Removes whiteheads. (If you massage lightly on the part of your nose for 2-3 mins)
(3) Deep massages on the face with CO will clog pores (which also means you are massaging the makeup INTO the skin).
(4) Double cleansing is advisable to ensure all makeup/CO is completely removed (Double Cleanse : Wash with facial cleanser after using Cleansing Oil).
(5) Do not slap cleansing oil into the eye area, It Stings like crazy, seriously! Use eye makeup remover instead!

I'm not going to go further into detail on what CO does and what more benefits it brings. I'm going tell you more about what I got from Niu Er's range.

Niu Er has 3 ranges of products, from the cheaper range "DIY" , Beauty Easy, and the exclusive range "BIO". Magic Cleansing Oil was from the DIY range and I'm using my 3rd bottle of Magic CO already.

In his DIY range, there's about 3-4 cleansing oil/cream.Here's how it looks like.

It comes in a matte plastic bottle with its name on the blue label, just like the above.

The design is very very simple and there's nothing to shout about on the packaging. What's interesting is that at the back of the bottle, it has a measurement on it where it shows consumers rough idea on how much CO left in the bottle.

Overall Reviews:
I know some people uses Jojoba oil/Virgin Oil/Baby Oil and even Cooking oil (serious!) for removing their waterproof makeup / skincare. I tried those before but I couldn't stand how oily it stays on my skin and it's quite troublesome for me to keep double cleansing my face to fully remove them off my face. By using this Magic cleansing oil, my face feel moisturized instead of oiliness and I'm quite impressed!

Magic Cleansing Oil does what it supposed to do on me. I wouldn't say this is a HG product for me even though its my third bottle for now. Why I'm using this so frequently is because it helps removing those "unwanted products" on my skin, even my whiteheads is lesser! Also, a bottle of Magic Cleansing Oil can lasts me for 2-3 months, which I think it is quite reasonable & economy for me (ZA Cleansing oil last me for 1.5 months and only 100ML!). Another plus point is that it doesn't have fragrance/smell too!

The only negative comments on this is the packaging. I need to wrapped a few layers of plastic/papers to prevent spillage on my baggage when I take them to travel.
