Nature Republic - Eau de Shine Prism Blossom Powder Review

February 23, 2011

Despite of the opening prmotion from Nature republic (which was ages ago when they first landed in Penang), I grabbed this Prism Blossom Powder off the shelf together with the aqua sunblock. I was not actually attracted to the discount (20% at that time) which is already attractive enough, but was drooling at packaging of this powder. So elegant, can!

Too bad I tossed away the box already. I couldn't get hold more of the information on this (especially on the instructions/ingredients) part. Even if I had them, I don't think I would be able to read them since it was all in Korean (yikes!).

Here comes the eye-candy pictures!

Comes with a powder puff (ignore the dirty-old puff ya).

Printed with the name.

Prism Blossom Powder. Four colors that is segregated into four compartments!

Looking fine over here!

Finely milled.

Plus it comes with free shimmers that comes together with the orangey/beigey powder.

Spot it?

Product Size: 20g
Product Price: It's about RM89.90 (if I'm not mistaken, or RM69.90)Will update again when I get this from the store.

My thoughts:
This is one of their star product, as claimed from the SA at the Nature Republic counter. And my my, it was still out of stock the last time I went there surveying before my Korea trip back in December.

Truth to be told, I actually like the powder. It's more like a finishing powder or loose powder to me. Even though it has slight shimmers, it does not really bother me as it does not create extra "shine" to the face. Oil control wise is good as well. And it does smell nice too! I think most of the items from Nature Republic has fragrance / parfum in it. Not sure if it's a trend but I do notice many Korean cosmetics and skin care items contains quite an amount of fragrance/parfum in their products.

Also, the SA also did mentioned to me that this powder can be worn alone after sunscreen. No foundation or BB cream needed prior to this. Since it's a finishing powder, please don't expect coverage from the powder. =)

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the powder even though the packaging is huge (sorry, didn't get to measure this). And yes, it does take up a little more space compared to my previous loose powders. =D

Would I repurchase again? Maybe, if I ever ran out of this one (which I doubt at the moment).

So have you tried anything from Nature Republic's cosmetic line? Do share any other product that you like. Would love to try out some other stuff too!

Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher, like finally!

February 14, 2011

Yes! Finally I had the courage to open up my new blusher! LOL!

This is because I had a very bad habit of buying and buying and buying without thinking if I really need these babies. :P Please excuse myself for self confessing! :P

Anyway, let me introduce you another new blusher called Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher. =)

May I present you the introduction for this baby.
Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher is a luxuriously smooth formula that provides a transparent sheen and a radiant pop of color to cheek for a natural glow. Infused with a special blend of treated nylon powders, Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher delivers a long lasting color. Wet n Wild blush is dermatologist-tested.

Usage description:

The packaging at the back.

Up close of the color that I got - Pearlescent Pink.

It does look a little dark here and in real life, the color is almost what you see as above.

Also, it comes with a little brush.

And the brush is uber-dissapointing. *hiks*

Why?? Do I need to say more?

The swatch.

And on hand.

Product size: 0.14oz 4g
Product price: $3 (from Nonpareilboutique)

My thoughts:
This blusher is quite pigmented by itself, very powdery and quite finely milled too. Something like my previous ELF Blusher. Because of the "fragility" of the blusher, I have to hold it up firmly, just in case the floor "catches" it instead of me. =\ Also, fragance is very minimal too, I don't think it does have any strong scent attached to this one.

On the other hand, I still don't see myself reaching for this blusher as much as I does with my other MAC blushers. This is because I noticed that my brush tend to get "more" product than it should and I always have to tap it off a few times just to get the "extras" off from the brush, hence the wastage and messy-ness. Hmph! And no, I'm not talking about the brush that comes with this, because the brush that comes with it is too coarse for my liking. :(

But for $3, how can I expect so much for a blusher? If I had a choice, I would prefer to go for ELF blushers instead of this one because the prior's texture is somewhat a little more "smooth" and has a slight "silky with sheen" finish upon application.

Would I repurchase this?
No. But I'm glad I've tried it and it does kill any future lemmings that comes from this line at the moment. Sorry WnW!

So have you tried this one yet?

There It Goes Again...

February 10, 2011

Are you a deodorant user?

Well , I am, since I was a teen with those sweaty armpits that drive me (and my parents back in the school days) mad.

Because the sweat stained my white school shirts. *blush*

I've used quite a lot of brands for deodorant but there's always a case where...

I just cannot understand why it leaks!!! :( All the time!

Even I put it upright, sideways... it still does the leaking thing. Ish!

Anyone has a way to solve this please?

Even with the instruction on how to close the cap does not even help the leaking problem. :(

Argh!

I've tried to clean them several times, checked the roller and all, but the problem still happens after that. =(

Gah! Please help me ya....

Last but not least, some information that you may want to know..

Note on the instruction: "Shake well with cap on"... I don't even dare to shake it in case the whole thing leaks out even more... geez...

Bio Essence 24K Bio-Gold Eye Contour Lifting Serum, the Wonder Gold!

February 9, 2011

Do you believed that "gold" really does "wonders" to your skin? I did a quick check on Mr. Google and found out that it is believed that 24k gold can help the skin reverse the sign of aging. Hm.. it does leave me ponder about it.....

Anyway, long story cut short, I did bought this "wonder gold" set end of last year in one of the local drugstore (I think it was Guardian). And the thing that attracted me was that this 24K thing was on some sort of promotion that is going for RM149 (if I'm not mistaken) where the original RP is RM179.90.

I'm not sure if I'm correct on this one but the serum selling individually was about RM90 (was it? or more?).

Overall, the 3-in-1 set feels "more worthy" when it comes with a face and neck cream plus additional facial cleanser. =D

Back of the box.

So what does Bio Essence say about 24K Gold?

Sounds powerful right?

Here's the product I'm going to review today. Face and neck cream will be done at a later stage since I don't really use that much of the gel yet.

The pump that I always prefer skincare items to have.

The amount that you get.

Spot the gold!

Don't you think the serum has more liquid that the gold? =/

Tiny weany gold flakes! 99% serum with 1% gold flake? Hm..

Here's the promotion picture from the Bio Essence Website.

Product Size: 20g
Product Price: RM149 (promotion price that comes in the set of 3 items: eye serum, face and neck cream, cleanser).

My Thoughts:
Out of the points stated in the promotional ads, I don't think I saw any obvious results using this.

Well, on the good points is that it does feel lightweighted and not oily hence I don't see any "extra" oil seeds from using it. The serum does also settle on the skin really quickly and it has very minimal fragrance. I do feel my puffy eyebags firms up a little bit but I don't think I see any "lifting" on this one.

Also, it is said that it can reduces wrinkles but I don't think it does reduces the lines around my eye area though. As long as it doesn't create "extra" fine lines or wrinkles, this is good enough for me.

But anyway on the double plus point, I like how elegant the packaging looks! My other eye serum looked very "boring" but this one does stand out from the "crowd". LOL!

Will I repurchase this?
Not for now as I think there are many other eye serums that I want to try first out there. =)

So have you use this 24K eye lifting serum before? Do share your thoughts as well and I may be the only one not "feeling" it. =)

ELF Haul before the CNY begins!

February 2, 2011

Finally after a long wait (about 3 months I supposed), my ELF haul finally reach me! YAY!

Nothing but ELF brushes! The spreer also put the Fragile sticker, just in case. How sweet of her. :)

And ta-daaaa....

All bubble-wrapped up nicely. =) Woot-woot!

First up, ELF Stipple brush.

I read quite abit of reviews on this one. But it's a little dissapointment to me though.

USD 3 for this brush.

Quick thoughts: Still okay for me but it is quite flimsy for my liking. Plus I'm not sure what I'm going to use with this one. Maybe for blusher... By the way, the bristles are really soft too!

Next, the one that I anticipated the most!

ELF Kabuki Face Brush! Look how cute it is in the box!

USD5 for the brush.

Quick thoughts: I was really looking forward for this when I first saw them on the ELF website. And when I got it, I love the look and feel of it! Uber-soft bristles plus it does seem quite sturdy too! So far I haven't use it but will update again when I used them.

Now for the last one .... Mineral foundation brush!
It's the newest range from ELF.

$5 for this brush.

Quick thoughts: I was quite skeptical at first, but since I intended to splurge on some ELF brushes, so I just gave in for this one. It looks quite normal to me. Bristles are soft but the one thing I noticed is that the brush handle looks a bit "cheapo" to me (Haha!). I'll take a closer picture of it the next round. And this brush is very lightweight too.

I've also got another back up for my powder brush but I won't be uploading the pictures since I've reviewed them before. Not all these brushes are all mine, I actually just bought one each this time, and the rest are for my fellow colleagues. :)

Note:
If you are wondering where I got these, I actually got them from Ms. Aini (aka hubby_enny @ LYN). Please take note if you are going to participate in the spree, you'll need to have the "PATIENCE". Especially handling sprees are not easy peasy.

Tight budget this year *sniff sniff*. But anyway, last but not least, wishing everyone great health, wealth and joyous wabbit year! I didn't manage to snap some goodie snacks for now but this is what I managed to snap last night.

hahaha, it's not mine but still it's something I can snap other than the messy room that I have. :P
