Clearasil Stayclear® Skin Perfecting Wash Review

May 26, 2010

Greetings my lovely blogwalkers/readers/strangers/lovers *chuckles* :P

So yeah, like finally. ;)

Here's what I'm going to talk blog about today.

Frankly speaking, I bought this due to Watson's clearance for this product. If I'm not mistaken, it costs me about only RM5 or RM6. Talk about spending dough without thinking. =)

Plus it says "Dermatologically tested". ( am I the only one attracted to their marketing strategy??)

So here you go. The description on the back of the product.
Well well, I was actually looking for a cleanser. I should have read the description more carefully this time. This is a "gentle" face scrub + cleanser by the way.

Made in Thailand?! Hmm... I actually thought Clearacil is a local product. =\

Standard packaging.

Okay, so here comes the interesting fact...

Contains Moisturisers??? Wow. I didn't know cleanser/scrub needed moisturizers. Does that mean we don't have to use moisturizer after using this product? ....

... But wait, when I read the details of the product, it says "Moisturizing agents help ensure your skin soft, smooth and hydrated". Hm.. a bit misleading huh?

Anyway, here's how the product looks like:-

On the back of the hand:-
*spot the microbeads?*

Gotten from Clearasil Website:-
Gentle exfoliating formula helps clear and prevent breakouts for CLEARER SKIN ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. The gentle microbead formula penetrates deep into pores to remove dirt, oil and bacteria. Moisturising agents leave skin soft, smooth and hydrated.

Benefits

CLEARER SKIN ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
Contains moisturisers to help care for your skin
Dermatologically Tested
Directions for use

Gentle enough to use everyday in the morning and evening.
Wet face. Squeeze a small amount into hands.
Massage gently onto face avoiding the delicate eye area.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Ingredients

Salicylic Acid

My thoughts:-

I don't like it. Sorry. Here are my reasons:-
  1. Contain fragrance. But still tolerable-lah.
  2. Leave an "oily-like" / moisturized feel on the skin after cleansing.
  3. Doesn't lather up. (I like foamy cleansers, even Biore (I think) has this type of micro-beads cleanser.)
  4. The description says remove oil & bacteria --> this is misleading. Since the product is so "moisturized", I still feel the "oil/oiliness" is not taken away by the cleanser.
But anyway, I think this product would suits people with very dry skin/sensitive skin. To me, this feels like a cream cleanser with very fine beads (to exfoliate your skin). If you like creamy cleanser, then keep a lookout for this product at your local drugstore.

ps. I'm not too sure if every Watson has this on their clearance shelf, but will keep you updated if I do spot them in another Watson outlet (I bought this off from I-avenue's Watson - Penang). ;)

So yeah, that's about it. Have a good day(s) ahead, people. =)

An Affair with OPIs

May 11, 2010

My affair with nail polishes is getting "wilder" these days. I can even foresee my drawer space getting lesser and lesser with these babies. xD

Anyway, I went for a medi pedi session again two weeks ago for a birthday treat (not sponsored by anyone thou..). And that was really a good reason get pampered since my last visit with Nail Hansen were 2 months ago (during CNY). LOL!

*Queensbay Penang Nail Hansen, doing pedi on my friend. :)

Here's what I got.
*the chopsticks were there because I was camwhoring during dinner time. xD

Product pic of OPI - Italian Love Affair.
It's a classic color from OPI. Very sweet pink with slight peachy undertone. However, only two coats of this on my nails. IMO, you'll need 3 coats to get them fully covered.

As for my pedi color, I got this.
*no flash.

* with flash.

This was from one of their LE collection :OPI's holiday in Toyland.

Too bad I couldn't find this around anymore. The color is such a beauty!

I really envy beauty bloggers that could do their medi and pedi so nicely. My nail polish application is still streaky and patchy. >.< " aah.. practice.. practice!!

Anyway, have a great week my lovely people. =)

My 120 Eyeshadow Palette Review

May 5, 2010

Ok. let's skip the whole grandmama story on why the long hiatus. =P

I received some questions about my opinion on some eyeshadow palette some time back and where to get them. So here's a quick post about this.
My 120 eyeshadow palette! Still shiny shiny and barely touched. >.<

So you've asked..
.......Where do I get them?

I got these online but I don't exactly remember the seller name for now. But it was from a local seller. Not ebay.

.......How much?

RM60 +- plus shipping.

I've googled and seen a few blogshops and LYN forum people selling them for less than RM80. So for 120 colors divided by RM80 = RM1.50 for a color is cheap!! =D

........ How good they are? Pigmented?

Err. I'll show you the pictures and you do the judging. =)

Six random colors, ranging from shimmers to matte colors.

Swatching them on the hand.

So, whaddayathink?

Yes, it's super powdery and chalky. Luckily my palette arrived safe and sound when I first got them.

Pigmented? Yes. Duper pigmented.

But powdery and pigmented doesn't really work together. I always have to tap the eyeshadow excess off my brush before applying, if not the eyeshadow fall all over the place. -_-

Staying power are okay. You can't match this against MAC eyeshadows because this eyeshadow palette isn't made for it to compare. :P But with a use of eyeshadow base or even cream eyeshadow (or even NYX Jumbo pencil!) can make the eyeshadow staying power last longer.

Nuff' said about it as I can't criticize much about it. The only drawback I personally had is that it has too many colors until I can't decide which to use everytime. Serious, 120 colors for 2 eyes? You gotta be kidding me! LOL!!

Oh and btw, this is eyeshadow palette of mine has no brand. I know I've seen a brand called "Manly" but mine isn't. It came in a white box without any wordings or description on it. =\ I will update again when I have more information on this.

Signing off now! Have a good day ahead, lovely people. =)
