Hello?

March 28, 2010

Sorry for the long MIA. =D And no, I'm did not go to Paris. Yet.

I wasn't able to get into my blog account as the location that I went seems to "block" the website. =(

But anyway, I'm back after a well-deserved break plus lots of craziness during the weekend!

I'll let the picture below to give you an idea about it! =D

I'm not sure if you can spot where I am for the past week but I did have a stroll around the world. haha!

Actually, the place is called Windows of the World (second half of the picture) which is one of the main attractions in Shenzhen, China. And my my, I did tons of exercise there (walk like mad! LOL!).

I came back to Malaysia on Friday and imagine I have to rush back for my convocation on Saturday. Madness. -_-"

But yeah, glad all went smoothly. *phew!*

I will allocate some time to get back on track with my blog after I clear my backlogs. T_T

So, I'll "see" you lovely people soon! =)

Wet n Wild Mega Liner (Black) Review

March 19, 2010

This was probably one of my "ugly relationship" where love and hate can occurs at the same time!

I got this product sometime back when I was hauling from Nonpareil Boutique.

Here's the promo pic that is randomly taken from the web.

They have many more pretty colors for this liner.

Please see one of the swatches from Make up Alley.

The Turquoise one looks fab here!

However, I only got the black one. =)

Here's the actual product.

What attracts me to try out this liner is not only because of its price, but also this:-

The descriptions on the box.

But do you know that this liner is also very tiny?!

The product picture looks normal but the actual size of this is tiny! So cute! =)

And here's the felt-tip liner.

Product description:

The product details:

Brush applicator

Made in China

Product size: $2.99/0.12 oz; Or you can get this from Nonpareil Boutique

My thoughts:
Before I tell you about my own thoughts, let me show you a little experiment that I've done.

See how easy it smudges?
I'm not sure about the reviews from Make Up Alley but for me, I would have rate only ONE star for this because of it's cuteness. =)

Frankly speaking, this Mega Liner smudges pretty badly on me. Not only it's not waterproof, the staying power isn't as great as well. The liner only stays on about 30 minutes or so on me. Or maybe I have oily lids and a pair of teary eyes. Also, this liner takes quite a while to dry off too.

On the bright side, the liner glides on very smoothly and the felt tip didn't felt "pokey" as well. Too bad the formula doesn't work for me, if not I would have stock them up for their the turquoise ones. =)

Overall, if you don't have oily lids like me, maybe you could try them as well since it's less than $3 bucks. =) Please also let me know if you felt otherwise. (I hope I don't break too many hearts for this one) =\

Nail Polishes: China Glaze Lubu Heels and Dorothy Who?

March 14, 2010

Okay, going to make this quick since these were my NOTD for last week. Now my nails are "naked" at the moment since I'm doing a lot of crazy house chores. >.<

As you might have seen my Ruby Pumps.. I actually got these colors as well.

NOTD: China Glaze Lubu Heels.

Another up close with my recent SkinMD Shielding Lotion. =)

It looked pretty "black" when painted on the nails. The texture feels like "watery" black paint. I did this for two coats, then only the glitters will show up. These has finer glitters than Ruby Pumps!

The consistency of this is watery, which is not the same texture as Ruby Pumps even though they are both from the same company. BTW, the color on the nail polish bottle shows red but I'm really curious why the nail polish turn out to be "black" when painted. -_-

And this lovely color was on my feet.

NOTD: China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Please excuse the funky application. LOL!

It was a tough one when painting the toe nails. >.< Or maybe I have a stiff backbone. :P
And I love love love this color! =) Maybe I should paint them on my finger nails. Super bling!!

ahhh.. sexy. (please ignore me. :P)

China Glaze Dorothy Who? is such a nice color! Totally recommend this if you are up for challenging colors! =)

The consistency is very similar to Ruby Pumps. Not runny and neither too thick. Just nice. These are applied with two coats. And it covers up the nails well. My Dorothy Who? still stays on nicely on my toes after 5 days of application! No chipping.

As for your question on where do I get China Glaze Polishes.. It's from Transdesign. =)

Another note about Lubu Heels and Dorothy Who? nail polishes, they are such a pain to remove! -_-
The glitters take some time to remove them off. >_<

But they do stay "longer" on the nails than those nail polishes without glitters.

Have you tried these yet? Do share some interesting colors if you have. I'm obsessed with them now. (help!!!)

Skin MD Natural™ Face, Hand & Body Shielding Lotion Review

March 11, 2010

If you don't know about them, fret not! Coz I'm going to tell you about Skin MD today. But I'm no dermatologist, I can only tell you what I think of them as a user. =)

I actually got this product from them sometime back in February.

And they were packed very nicely which makes people feels nice. =) Don't pretty packaging makes you happy?

Look what they have gotten me?!

Generous can?! Plus little samples that is very useful for me especially when I'm traveling. =)

Here's the Shielding Lotion that you may have seen them around. =)

BTW, please visit SkinMD's website. They have lots of cool animations and explanation there! (You'll learn a lot even by looking at their little pictures, serious!)

Here's the description from the bottle.

And the back.

With it's ingredients.

The packaging that makes me want to bring it everywhere! :D Now it's sitting nicely on top of my office table. =D

Here comes the interesting part. The product.

See how smooth and light it is? I don't like those thick vit E creams/lotions as it always make me feel "oily" and "slippery/sticky". Especially I live in a super hot and humid weather country. =) This arrives at the right time!

See how smooth and light this is!

Before I tell you how the lotion works on me, let me show you some facts from them.

*taken from SkinMD's website*

This is an entirely new concept in skin care requiring a new classification: "Shielding Lotion". A shielding lotion keeps moisture-robbing irritants away from the skin while the proprietary "super" humectants hydrate the skin throughout the day.

Skin MD Natural™ is promptly absorbed, without the slightest hint of any greasy or oily feeling or residue, transforming the outer layer of skin into a hydrating invisible shield.

Glycerin has been the standard against which all humectants are measured. Until now no other humectant drew in as much moisture from the air as glycerin. But the proprietary formulation in Skin MD Natural has a moisturizing factor of at least 6 times greater than glycerin. Combined with its protective properties and natural ingredients, this makes Skin MD Natural a truly unique product.

An accumulated effect of Skin MD Natural is fully realized after only a few days of daily use. Depending on how dry your skin is the first few days may require reapplications after only a few hours. Usually, after a few days of continuous use, only one or two daily applications are necessary to see the improvement.
Sounds good right? This one below is even better! (this really tempts me to stock them up, ah!! )
Skin MD Natural is a shielding lotion, a very special type of lotion helping the skin restore its integrity, enhance its protective functions so that the skin is able to heal naturally and regain its youthful appearance. Skin MD Natural works by bonding with cells of the skin's outermost layer to form what works as an invisible shield. This layer of protection prevents environmental irritants and pollutants from penetrating the skin, while sealing in the skin's own natural oils and moisture, helping resolve the dry skin condition.

Skin MD Natural uses only the finest natural ingredients, and is focused on urging the skin to be active, and to use its own moisture to effectively heal itself. It is not oily or sticky, doesn't sit on top of your skin leaving a greasy residue on everything you touch, it doesn't rub or wash off easily, is hypoallergenic, fragrance, colorant and paraben free and dermatology tested.
So, are you sold to them? Maybe my experience may help you with the answer??

Note: Original means bare skin. Without any shielding lotion applied. Applied means I've applied the shielding lotion on the hands. =)

This is the back of my hand. The result is not so obvious. This one below might help you see the effect more (I hoped!).

See the slight difference? I only use consecutively for 3 days. I applied every one hour for the first day and every 2 hours for the second day.

Price: $18 for 4oz or you can check out HERE.

My thoughts:
I loved it!

For the first time I saw it, I actually thought this product wouldn't work much for me since the texture looked so "light".So I thought I brought this to the office to try them since the office air-con always dries up my lips and my fingers (I actually did put a cup of water beside me everyday but still the dry air seems to like my body moisture instead of the water -_-).

At the first few applications, my palms felt "normal" but I can felt it was less drier than before. Because of my patience level is low (haha!) , so I decided to go for a more intensive application by applying them every 50-60 minutes.

By the end of day 1, I could see my palms has lesser "harsh" palm wrinkles (or people call it lines?). My skin felt softer and smoother too! I did this "intensive application" for day 2 as well and I could see a little more difference than before -- the skin felt smooth and it felt as if there's some moisture locked underneath! So after day 2, I applied for every 2-3 hours instead since it doesn't felt so drying as before. I believed if this Shielding lotion is used for some time, the skin will "restore" it's moisture level without needing to apply them so frequently as before. So ... save money and more soft & smooth skin! =D

BTW, do you know SkinMD Shielding Lotion also works as a moisturizer for the face? I did try them as my "night" lotion but it did felt a little oily when I woke up in the morning. I think this shielding lotion would work better for those who has dry skin though. :)

Overall, I still love their Shielding lotion even though it's a little expensive compared to the conventional moisturizing lotions. I believed a little goes a long way. ;)

Oh btw, they don't have a strong fragrance too! A big thumbs up for this as I dislike products with a strong perfume scent. Also, I haven't tried their SPF version but I'll review them once I've tried them. =)

PS: You can buy this off from their website too as they do ship WORLDWIDE ($9.95 for shipping). PLUS if you order 5 or more bottles and you'll receive a bottle of the SPF formula for FREE ($25 value).

Hmm.. tell me how to resist the temptation of this please! =P

Skincology EGF Cell Regenerating Serum E.G.F.+山藥活齡精華液

March 9, 2010

Don't the name of this product sounds really professional?

BTW, EGF means Epidermis Growth Factor.

And this is the product, again from Skincology (Niu Er).

I haven't tried all of their serum range yet, but will get there someday! LOL!

Here's the promo pics from Payeasy's website.

And the actual product that you'll be getting:

See the serum color? It' a little reddish.. but not as in bloody red color.

But the bottle does scare me a little when I first got it.

The bottle packaging.

Descriptions on the bottle.

And in English.

It says:
Amazing facial moisturizing renewal complex contains human EGF. Aging skin loses its ability to rejuvenate as quickly as adolescent skin. EGF stimulates skin cells to revert to their active renewal pattern. By using this serum twice daily over a 4-6 week period, the skin returns to its youthful clarity and translucence with increased firmness.
Price: RM55 ~ RM58 from Fiobeauty @ last year (540NT from Payeasy) for 30ml

My thoughts:
I think this is an okay product. When I first tried this serum, the smell was a little hard to tolerate. It smells like those "Chinese Herbs" mix with raw vegetable kinda scent. -_- Kinda putting me off a bit for the first few days but now my nose is already immune to it. :P

Other than that, this serum feels light (runny texture) and absorb quickly into the skin. Also, i can see it does help lighten (very little!) some old pimple spots of mine. My skin also felt somewhat "matte" and it seems to control oil for some period of time. :)

I didn't much felt the "firmness" or "more youthful" as described in the product description. But overall, it is an okay product despite it feels very "lightweight" on my skin. :)

The ingredients.

Nail Polish #1 Ruby Pumps from China Glaze

March 4, 2010

Hello all!

I'm very excited to show you what I did (without the help of Nail Hansen) to my nails!

PIC: 2 coats Ruby Pumps + Seche Vite Dry Fast topcoat

Even though it is still freaking messy, but I don't care! muahaha. Hopefully I have the determination to practice, practice, practice!

This is from China Glaze by the way!

Damn freaking cool color! Ruby pumps!

I actually didn't know what to get at first since I'm torn between OPI's I'm not really a waitress and China Glaze's Ruby Pumps. But I'll go with the cheaper one first. =p

BTW, it's so freaking tough to get the actual color out! RED is my camera's enemy. (LOL!)

Anyway, have you tried China Glaze's nail polish? I'm reading too many good reviews For Audrey but needed more suggestions though!

Do share away if you have any color that you like from them!

ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer Review

March 3, 2010

I believe this ELF product is no stranger to anyone now. =)

I got this product pic from the website, and it seems they only have one color for this primer which is "Sheer".

And this is mine. =)

Taken this pic near to my eye, so it's an eye primer if you don't get the reason behind it. haha. (lame I know! :P)

This elf mineral eyeshadow primer comes in a box like this. With the description and details.

Color indicator.

Slick-thin packaging too! Thinner than my Crazy Rumor's Lipbalm.

The applicator.

Similar with UDPP's wand right? :)

Now here comes the SHEER colored primer.

pic below: application of primer on my finger (before and after).

Doesn't look "sheer" to me. Maybe it should call them "skin colored"?

Anyway, since I got my TFSI, I can only show you how both of them differ with each other.

In real life, TFSI felt more creamier and thicker than ELF's mineral primer. :)

If you wonder what TFSI is.. here's a random pic that I've taken with the other day. =P

You can read more about them later if you want to. :)

On to the reviews!

From ELF website:-
This gentle and completely sheer Eyeshadow Primer has key vitamins A, C and E to help prevent aging and moisturizes the skin. The formula glides on easily and disappears instantly to create longer-lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow. The Mineral Eyeshadow Primer is designed to be used with your favorite mineral eyeshadow to provide ultimate staying power for beautiful and vibrant color that lasts. 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.

Application tip:
Apply a small amount to the eyelid and blend in. Use as a base prior to applying eyeshadow.

Price:$3 (compared to $17 for TFSI, this is super-cheap! :P )

My thoughts:
The description sure lures me to buy them! Vit A, C and E that comes with the primer for just $3?! Are you kidding me? ha! I couldn't imagine a primer that can actually help prevent aging! lol! (l.a.m.e) Oh well. But let me show you how it does "magic" to my veins can? =P

As you know, I have those typical heavy lids that comes with free veins :P. This primer actually does help a little in "concealing" them. So cool right?

But as for this statement "The formula glides on easily and disappears instantly to create longer-lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow.", I don't really agree with them. Glides on smoothly (YES), disappears instantly (still okay) but this create longer-lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow is nadda. I wore this primer to work at 7am but it creases at the inner corner of my eye by 2pm. By the time I reaches home at 8pm, I can see a "divider" at my eyelid with some oils in between (eeks!). Because of this, my non-waterproof mascara smudges a little too! -_-

I have also heard some bloggers doesn't like the "smell" of this primer. I didn't get any kind of weird smell when I first open it. However, after some time, this primer smell like "burnt rubber" (some sort!). Not heavy but very light if you do smell them on purpose. LOL!

Overall, this primer works quite good IMO. I'm saying this is because I still see most of my eyeshadow intact for 7 long hours. :) For $3, I wouldn't much complain because it does what it suppose to do (except the aging thing). =)

Last but not least, the ingredients:-

PS: I couldn't compare this with their $1 eyelid primer since I have never tried them before.

If you have tried them and felt otherwise, do let me know! =)
