Cellnique Intensive Hydrating Oasis Gel Review

December 31, 2009

Hie hie, this will be my last post of 2009! :D I know many bloggers by now are doing "good bye posts" to 2009 but please bear with me before I greet Happy New Year to everyone! :P

For now, I hope Cellnique doesn't keep everyone "too warm" though. haha.

Im not going to talk about the masque or serum, so don't worry. :D I'm going to review something else that they sent to me earlier this month - Cellnique Intensive Hydrating Oasis Gel.

Intensive Hydrating Oasis Gel was previously known as Oasis Soothing Gel, and do you know that this is the only moisturizer that came in a tube form?! (that's what I noticed in their website HERE). This product is also one of their best seller too! Wow!

This is how it looks like.

I noticed both of their intensive + soothing hydrating masque and the oasis gel has the same packaging.

The back of the tube.

I loved how they package things this way. super hygienic. *thumbs up!*

And their quality seal too! Making sure the tube is not opened. ;)

In case you are wondering how big this is... here's a fun photo for you. :D

Okay, let's get to the main point now. Here's how the gel looks like.

Does it remind you of something??????

haha!!

Don't you think they just looked alike? ....

Well.. maybe not from their packaging! ha!

Anyway, the gel really reminds me of aloe vera when I first used it during my travel to India. It suited the purpose of traveling because of its convinient size (50g), and also a good timing for me to try out whether if this really works under the hot & humid whether in India.

Here's some info about the product from Cellnique.com's website:

It says:-
A soothing and calming, highly concentrated, Aloe vera gel-based formulation designed for all skin types. It is further enhanced with the infusion of witch hazel, horse chestnut, and marine collagen to deliver an ultra-effective moisturizing formula. Contains no diazolidinyl urea.

And this gel helps skin that are:
Dehydration • Sensitive • Open pores • Enlarged pores • Congestion • Scars • Acne • Blackheads and whiteheads

Sound's good right? The pictures below sounded even better!

Aloe Vera Extract

Aloe vera extract has been used for thousands of years to heal burns and injuries. Research has confirmed that the extract has anti-inflammatory properties and promotes wound healing. Due to its polysaccharide and sterol content, Aloe vera acts as a water-binding agent, resulting in soft, smooth and supple skin texture.

Marine Collagen

Marine collagen provides excellent water-binding properties. It works well to promote skin hydration and suppleness.

Witch Hazel Extract

A plant extract with toning and astringent properties. It also helps to promote healing, reduce inflammation and has anti-irritant properties.

Horse Chestnut Extract
Horse chestnut extract acts as an astringent. It also has the ability to stimulate blood flow.

off topic: I didn't know horse chestnut looks like that.. haha :)

The product:

Price:
USD43 @ Cellnique.com or RM129 @ any Cellnique authorized dealers

My thoughts:
I like it! During my first encounter with the oasis gel, I was quite "disgusted" with it. The reason being is because it felt like silicon and the aloe-vera-kind-of-gel leaves a little stickiness behind after application. At that time, I felt like my skin doesn't feel like "absorbing" the gel, leaving the surface feeling "sticky" and "weird". Somehow the feeling just subside after 5-6 times of trying, and that's when I can feel the stickiness "sort of" subside already.

It's very hard to describe how skin care works on every person, but I hope the "skin moisture meter" helps abit here. :)

note: I actually wore this alone after cleansing my face without toner and serum.

This is the "after" result:

Not bad right! The moisture level is still high. BTW, actual skin moist level for every person is usually at least 35% and above)

Cons?
The packaging. Yeah, I know. I said I liked the packaging before but do you know that you have to put this product up-right so that the product can actually flows down to the pump area? I actually thought I used up the gel when I couldn't get the gel out after I came back from India. -_-

Overall, it is an okay product, not something I would loved over my HG moisturizer (haha). I would recommend this to people with normal-dry skin and sensitive skin. But I wouldn't recommend to those with oily skin though as it doesn't have any oil-control properties in there. :)

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle All the Way

December 24, 2009

^ okay, the title does not match this post anyway.

As some of you may know, I went to India in the beginning of December for 6 days. My-my, what a great experience I had! :D

Anyway, as you know, the only way that I can get to India is via KL so, I have a good opportunity to shop in KL too!

*guess where I go??? *

*Kiehls!!*

off rant: why we always don't have these brands in our coconut island !!?! (Penang flag has a coconut tree right?!) :P
This is what I've got myself, as a Xmas present. LOL! (girls buy things always have a reason eh.. :P)

SA Miki @ Kiehls was sweet enough to give me some intro on these products.. and she also told me they have an on-going promo whenever you buy > RM100, free RM10 (in other words, minus RM10 off the bill)..

Here's what I got...

She even gave me a luxurious sample of moisturizer! woah!

Anyway, I do noticed Kiehl's packaging of their cleanser and toner looks like some kind of medicine bottle. hahaha.

If you do love Kiehls product, do take advantage of this promo hor (Buy RM100, free RM10). coz I'm not sure if it is an on-going thing or not, but the promo sure attracts me. :D

PS: They do have Christmas set promo going on as well (See below) and they even has a Facebook page too! Check them up for updates!

Last but not least, Merry Christmas Everyone!!

My Impressions with BRTC BB Creams

December 19, 2009

I must say BB cream aren't new anymore.. and guess what?! Our local Watson stores have them!! (in KL, why not Penang!! rolleyes so bias :P)

And the price doesn't come cheap as well. I didn't get any of them either, just testing them out since they have a tester there for some of their BB cream ranges..

Anyway, I'm just trying to gather these up into one. I don't have the full range of BRTC's BB cream, just the tester ones that Watson has them. lol.

First off, BRTC Gold Caviar BB cream. (click to enlarge hor..)

Price (at Watsons): RM120.90 (*freaking $$$!!*)
My thoughts: Expensive. The first impression that I have is that this is not a full-coverage BB cream. It goes on quite thick, but in terms of texture wise is in between the Multiplex and Jasmine BB cream. Fragrance is not strong as well.
For swatches, scroll down below. :)

Next, Jasmine Water BB cream. (click to enlarge hor..)

Price (at Watsons): RM93+- (I don't remember the price but definitely below RM100)
My thoughts: I don't like the smell of jasmine. -_- Neither I'm a jasmine tea drinker.. hehe. However, the texture of this one is the lightest among the three. And obviously (if you see the swatch below), the color of this BB cream is also the lightest among the three. I'm not sure if it will gives any white-cast after it is applied, but from the look of it, I think this color of the BB cream might not suit every skintone though...

Lastly, BRTC Protect Multiplex Balm. (click to enlarge hor..)

Price (at Watsons): RM130.90 (*freaking $$$!!*)
My thoughts: The most $$$$ of them all. This is also one of the *star buy* products in Watson. The price really gave me stars, lol! The texture of this is light and I do notice it has a slight sheen/dewy effect. The color of the BB cream is also scary.. lol! Darker than the Jasmine Water BB cream, and also has quite a pink undertone underneath it. Also, I do feel 3 of these BB cream does feel a little sticky after I smooth it out on the back of my palm, I wonder if it might feel stickier on the face then? -_-

Random: Check out Ashley's experience --> BRTC Protect Multiplex BB Cream

Here comes the final thing : swatches! :)

On paper:

After smooth it out evenly...

I don't think I have help anyone on with this pesky-short impression of mine :P, but do check out what the other beauty bloggers's writeup on this.

Til then, Happy weekend! mrgreen

MAC Baroque Boudoir Collection.. sigh!

December 16, 2009

I saw this collection from MAC's website and Jenn's (lipglosseater) website.. I was *so* looking forward to see this collection (initially..)!

And they have already launched in KL since Dec-2!!

*hie elegant ones!!*

Don't you think the packaging is lovely? :D

Prive Creamy light blue pink (Cream) (Limited Edition)
Treasured Creamy warm nude beige (Cream) (Limited Edition)
Baroque Boudoir Creamy dark plum (Cream) (Limited Edition)

Especially the glosses! Argh!

Preciousness Sheer metallic pink with white pearl (Frost) (Limited Edition)
The Lap of Luxury Sheer baby pink with white & pink pearl (Frost) (Limited Edition)
D’Nouveau Sheer dusty rose with light pink pearl (Frost) (Limited Edition)

Since I was in KL (last week), so I head over to MAC @ Mid Valley..

Seriously speaking, I'm quite disappointed about them.. even though some had already sold out.

Photobucket
3 on the Left are the lipsticks while the 3 on the right are the lipglosses.

These doesn't contained much shimmers with it especially for their glosses.. anyway.. back to my opinion, I don't think it's worthwhile to get even one for myself since these colors aren't as appealing as their pictures in their website... rolleyes

I know these doesn't come cheap since MAC made them this way similar to last year's Monogram collection...

ps. Also, I hope I don't spoil anyone's temptation or crushed any MAC fan's heart out there.. just my 2 cents though neutral

Shills Moisturizing Liquid UV Spray SPF30 潤膚防曬噴霧

December 13, 2009

As some of you may know, I don't really stick to one face product most of the time. One of the product that I alternate alot is my sunscreen/sunblock. This time it's from Shills.

Some of you may be familiar with Shills product as they do come out with some other stuff like BB creams and skincare products.

Here's what I can find from Google. I don't think they have a website though (correct me if I'm wrong).

It seems like this sunscreen can be used on the body as well.

From the box:

The actual product:

This product "life span" after opened is 6 months.

The packaging is quite stylish and I do like how this company packaged them.

*see the liquid??*

My thoughts about it:

** My likes....
  1. Dewy-finished. This product does not leaves a matte & dry finish unlike my Rohto sunblock.
  2. Affordable. Price is comparable/ on par to other drugstore brands of sunblock.
** My DISlikes....
  1. Spray bottle goes crazy sometimes... I have to clean it regularly, if not the liquid wouldn't want to come out from the bottle. :X

  2. When I first ordered them, I like it because it says "spray". So, I was thinking it's going to be not those sticky type and should be lightweight/watery product that can goes on easily on the skin. It was lightweight/watery alright but the blending/spreading of this sunscreen makes me go crazy!!

  3. *see the bracket part*

Overall I do not like nor fancy this. rolleyes

I really look forward to use this when this sunscreen reaches me. But spreading this sunscreen on my face is so tough!! I get streaks all over, and because the texture of this product is so watery, I couldn't managed it properly either. *sigh*

Anyway, I really fancy the way Shills package this product, the color so elegant and the bottle looks so nice! Maybe I should try use it on my body instead of my face so that I don't waste this product....*gahh!!* rolleyes If you do use this and didn't have a problem like mine, please do let me know. xiexienidulu (TQ to U 1st) smile
