Magic Cleansing Oil 魔術卸妝潔顏油(清爽型)

March 30, 2009

Do you use CO everyday? Well, I do. Whenever I put on either make up or sunscreen, I must have that CO in my "after make-up" routine.

CO = Cleansing Oil

Some quick facts on Cleansing Oil that I can currently think of:-
(1) Removes waterproof makeup/sunscreen.
(2) Removes whiteheads. (If you massage lightly on the part of your nose for 2-3 mins)
(3) Deep massages on the face with CO will clog pores (which also means you are massaging the makeup INTO the skin).
(4) Double cleansing is advisable to ensure all makeup/CO is completely removed (Double Cleanse : Wash with facial cleanser after using Cleansing Oil).
(5) Do not slap cleansing oil into the eye area, It Stings like crazy, seriously! Use eye makeup remover instead!

I'm not going to go further into detail on what CO does and what more benefits it brings. I'm going tell you more about what I got from Niu Er's range.

Niu Er has 3 ranges of products, from the cheaper range "DIY" , Beauty Easy, and the exclusive range "BIO". Magic Cleansing Oil was from the DIY range and I'm using my 3rd bottle of Magic CO already.

In his DIY range, there's about 3-4 cleansing oil/cream.Here's how it looks like.

魔術卸妝潔顏油(清爽型) Magic Cleansing Oil
Magic

Needless to say, mine was the second one from the left (in purple circle).
Magic

It comes in a matte plastic bottle with its name on the blue label, just like the above.

The design is very very simple and there's nothing to shout about on the packaging. What's interesting is that at the back of the bottle, it has a measurement on it where it shows consumers rough idea on how much CO left in the bottle.

Price:
RM35+- (Price from local supplier of Niu Er's Goods) for 150ML of CO.

Overall Reviews:

I know some people uses Jojoba oil/Virgin Oil/Baby Oil and even Cooking oil (serious!) for removing their waterproof makeup / skincare. I tried those before but I couldn't stand how oily it stays on my skin and it's quite troublesome for me to keep double cleansing my face to fully remove them off my face. By using this Magic cleansing oil, my face feel moisturized instead of oiliness and I'm quite impressed!

Magic Cleansing Oil does what it supposed to do on me. I wouldn't say this is a HG product for me even though its my third bottle for now. Why I'm using this so frequently is because it helps removing those "unwanted products" on my skin, even my whiteheads is lesser! Also, a bottle of Magic Cleansing Oil can lasts me for 2-3 months, which I think it is quite reasonable & economy for me (ZA Cleansing oil last me for 1.5 months and only 100ML!). Another plus point is that it doesn't have fragrance/smell too!

The only negative comments on this is the packaging. I need to wrapped a few layers of plastic/papers to prevent spillage on my baggage when I take them to travel. rolleyes

St.Clare Sebum Treatment Set (聖克萊爾粉刺速淨MP3) review

March 26, 2009

I believed most people did try before nose pore pack. Either from Biore, Kose Softymo, Charcoal, and not to forget, Sheep Placenta (I wonder if it is origin from baa baa black sheep?!)too!

Well, most of those doesn't work on me. I tried this.

*Warning* Please don't read this if you are eating.

border="0"

And I'm one of the satisfied customer for this.

The product is called: St.Clare聖克萊爾粉刺速淨MP3

In English is St. Clare Sebum Treatment Set. But I don't understand why Chinese name do include "MP3" as well. I even thought the set comes with a free CD/MP3 or something! :P

Well, it doesn't comes with any CD attached. But it comes with 2 little bottles and a tube of mask.

In real life, it looks exactly like what we see..

(1) Deep Sebum Softener 10ML
Deep Sebum Softener

(2) Sebum Purifying Mask 40ML
Sebum Purifying Mask

(3) Pore Treatment Essence 10ML
Pore Treatment Essence

And these is how it works:
Photobucket

Start from the Left to Right

(First Pic) - Using Deep Sebum Softener to massage onto the nose area and rinse it with lukewarm water. This will soften the whiteheads / blackheads.
(Second Pic) - Apply an adequate amount of the mask. Make sure it covers the pores well. Sebum Purifying Mask will then peel these stubborn illegal babies out.
(Third Pic) - Slap on some Pore Treatment Essence to tighten the pores.

Easy right. The only difference of this with the other blackhead pore packs that I know, is the color of the mask. The color of this mask is White. See?
Sebum Purifying Mask

Wondering how big these tubes/bottle are?

Set
The Dove leave on Lotion is the smallest bottle size in stores ya. Not the big one.

Let me show you the results:

Look at that! Can you see it?

I tried googled St.Clare聖克萊爾粉刺速淨MP3 and some bloggers have more detailed results on this. If you don't believe me, tried google and see. But make sure you are not eating / having a full stomach ya.. :P

Price: 488NT (I got it for RM60+- locally)

Overall Reviews:
Not bad. For my first time using the Sebum Treatment Set, the results are really amazing. I can see a lot of white heads and blackheads on the mask. -_- The blackheads are lesser now(also with the help of scrubbing every 2 days).

The only comment for this is the purifying mask. It has a minty feel after application and I also felt some stingy feeling on my nose area which I don't like. However, the stinging/minty feeling will go away about 3-4 minutes later. Besides, I waited quite long for this purifying mask to dry up completely. Normally my other pore packs take me about 20-25 mins to dry up and ready for peeling, but this one takes a little longer than usual.

I quite like the Pore Treatment Essence. The smell of this essence is very refreshing. But it doesn't really tighten up the pores. The effect is more like giving a protection and reducing redness after the mask is peeled off.

Make Up For Ever High Definition (HD) Primer - Green

March 24, 2009

Yes. I'm going to talk about this today.

MUFE

I bought this when I was in Jakarta 2 weeks ago. Mainly because:-

(a) My Guerlain Primer is going to hit the bottom soon.
(b) I'm looking for a primer which is more thick in texture.
(c) Penang does not have MUFE counter.
(d) I heard so much raves about them, back then.

So I got one myself. In Green. Hijau. Yeah.
Hijau MUFE

At first I was thinking of getting the mauve coloured one since it smells more refreshing than this one. But the MUA recommend me to get either the Green one or the Yellow one. Because of my "Bintik-Bintik" (as quoted by the MUA), she said it would be beneficial for me skin to somewhat "conceal" and "reduces" the redness of my acne. -_- Fine. Oh, and this smells a little like "Rejoice" shampoo. mrgreen

Anyway, this product is made in France.

Wondering how slim and tall this is?

Let's do some experiment with this MUFE HD primer before we go into details..

Do my skin look like leprechaun's ? =P

Any bintik bintik there? :X

Price: About RM105 (This is the MUFE price in Jakarta after a rough conversion)/ 30ml

Overall Description:

Well, a few things that I am not satisfied.

(Disappointment 1) The packaging.
Yeah, it looks okay in the pictures, but in real life, this bottle packaging is made of plastic. I'm not against anything that is made of plastic, but then this packaging just "hate" me. I brought this HD primer back from Jakarta (Indonesia) and guess what?! This primer spilled all over the place , the bottle just "loosen" itself and the bottle cover is not intact with its body. Sigh.

(Disappointment 2) The primer itself.
I thought it was good for me since I wanted something thicker than my previous primers. Most of them are more watery and absorbs a little slower because of its consistency. This primer is indeed thicker but the blending of this primer onto the skin is quite a tough job for me. I don't own F1 / Initial D fingers and sometimes it looks a little uneven on my skintone if I didnt blend it out quickly. And also, the amount that I use for this primer is almost 2x my previous Guerlain primer.

(Disappointment 3) It ain't do good as it describes.
Let me check if these all applies:-
- energizes skin cells (Nada, maybe a little).
- Moisturizing ( Nada, this gives a matte feeling, not moisturizing in any way)
- Bringing radiance to the skin (Nada, like I said, it gives a matte finished.. mana ada dewy/radiance...)

(Disappointment 4) It stains my ladies fingers.
Yeah. The picture says it all. -_-

Photobucket

On the good side of this primer, it really does help a little on concealing / reducing the redness of my acne. Not obvious but at least it does its job. It also absorbs fairly quickly on the skin (if you do blend it out quickly) and my powder foundation does stay strong just like husband and wife. mrgreen I won't say this primer is bad, maybe it just doesn't work much for me only! :)

Am I gonna repurchase it? I don't think so for this one. Anyway, do check out the other HD Primer colors. I'm sure there's one that works better than this one. =)

Bobbi Brights Eye Palette and The Platinum Collection from Bobbi Brown

March 19, 2009

Pretty huh? I saw them when I went to MAC's HK Launch weeks ago. This set was launched in early March if I remembered well.

I *was* quite interested with this pretty palette when I knew it was going to come out from Bobbi Brown. But in the end, I didnt bought it.

Why? Because it was ridiculously small! The shadow pans is about my pinky(little finger) size! rolleyes And all of them are matte shadows too! For RM230, I would rather spend it on Coastal Scent's one.

Here's some swatches for your eye satisfaction ...

My thoughts:
If you are feeling all hype-up about Hello Kitty's "Lucky Tom" or "Too Dolly" palette, I suggest you shift your "investment" to get this one.

As you can see, these colors showed up prettily on the back of my palm (unlike MAC's "Lucky Tom" takes me a few times to get them on my hand!! rolleyes).

These eye shadows has a powdery-finished effect and not velvety-finished. Even though this palette is super-small, but the pigmentation of these shadows are good, which I think they are way better than MAC's eyeshadows.

Oh and by the way, Bobbi Brown has another set of Limited edition items coming in as well.

The Platinum Collection.
Platinum

I'm not a fan of cream shadows or lipgloss. But this is interesting..

Platinum Pink Shimmer Brick.
Platinum PSB

Skin has a soft and luminous glow this season courtesy of Bobbi's newest Shimmer Brick, part of her NEW Platinum Collection. Five color bars-soft pink, platinum, bright pink, golden coral and rose-blend together to light up the face. These shades work beautifully as highlight colors for cheeks or anywhere you want to add shimmer. The special platinum bar is a great new shade for eyes. Custom-made compact features a metallic silver finish and faux-leather detailing.

Multi-shimmer-brick eh... for eyes and cheeks.. mrgreen Hmm....

@Nature Chamomile Ultra Soothing UV Protective Fluid review

March 15, 2009

Hi people!

Its been a week already since I blog about the kitty-fied collection by MAC and my updates has been pretty slow. rolleyes

Let's talk about sunscreen today, shall we?

As you know, I'm quite "married" to Taiwan's Niu Er's skin care range of products. Most of my skincare routine, ranges from serum to sunscreen are from him. I've got three sunscreen from there. And currently, I'm using @Nature's range (and Yes, I did finished my previous two bottles of sunscreen already! mrgreen)

@Nature

In chinese is called :薰衣草淨白清新高效防曬液SPF50 PA+++ (the Lavender Range)
You can see from the web here.

Size: 40ml
Price : 350NT (after direct conversion is about RM40)

Overall reviews:
The good part for this is that it contains a high SPF of 50 and it is also PA+++ .
PA = Protection Grade of UVA and it also means the sunscreen's ability against UVA. PA+++ is the highest, and mostly it is recommended for those who are exposed to outdoor activities most of the time.
I used them everyday even though I don't exposed to the sun all the time. It's because I do drive under Mr. Hot Sunshine and therefore I wouldn't want to get my skin affected with miss.ugly.pigmentation having its PR (permanent resident :P) on my skin.

The not-so-good part is this sunscreen do need a little time for it to get absorb into the skin. Because of its higher SPF, it absorbs at a more slower rate than the other lower-spf-sunscreen that I had. It also does gets a little oily after application too. I don't recommend this who does have oily skin though. However, IMO, if you do put on make up after this sunscreen, it does keep the dewy-oily look out of bay though. =)

If you are wondering where I got this from, I got this from www.fiobeauty.com.
